Giza Pyramids Tours

Why did the ancient Egyptians use the pyramid shape?

Egyptologists have developed many theories about why the tombs of the early pharaohs were built in the pyramid shape. Here are three different ideas:

  1. The pyramid represented the first land to appear at the beginning of time- a hill called ‘Ben-Ben’.
  2. The pyramid had sloping sides so that the dead pharaoh could symbolically climb to the sky and live forever.
  3. The pyramid represented the rays of the sun.Discover the Secrets of Giza Pyramids

Egypt Tours: Suffi Dance

Suffi Dance

Discover more about the Islamic culture and enjoy a night exploring Islamic Cairo where you will attend the spectacular Sufi Dance Show at wikalat al ghouri. Sufi whirling (or Sufi spinning), is a form of physical active meditation which originated among Sufis, and is still practised by the Sufi Dervishes of the Mevlevi order. It is a customary dance performed within the worship ceremony, then to El Moez Street the best place where you can see the Islamic architecture arts.

You will picked up from your hotel to enjoy a 2 hour night tour in Islamic Cairo and transported to see the Sufi Dance Show at wikalat al ghouri. Sufi whirling is a customary dance performed within the worship ceremony, through which dervishes (also called semazens) aim to reach the source of all perfection. This is sought through abandoning one’s nafs, egos or personal desires, by listening to the music, focusing on God, and spinning one’s body in repetitive circles, which has been seen as a symbolic imitation of planets in the Solar System orbiting the sun. After the show you will then be taken to El Moez Street, the best place where you can see the Islamic architecture arts.

Afterwards you will be transported back to your hotel.
