The lower part of the Mosque is clad inside and out with Alabaster, while the top part is constructed from the limestone cladding removed from the Pyramids of Giza.

Continue to the Mosque and Madrassa (school) of Sultan Hassan.

Built between 1356 and 1363, and is believed to be one of the finest examples of Mamluk architecture in Cairo.

The mosque is also considered one of the largest, not only in Cairo but in the whole Islamic world, measuring some 492 feet (150 meters) long and 118 feet (36 meters) high. The highest minaret is 223 feet (68 meters) tall.

The mosque was, for example, designed to include schools for all four of the Sunni schools of thought: Shafi’i, Maliki, Hanafi and Hanbali

Day 4 :

Breakfast at the Hotel then Check out and around 6:00 am transfer by private A/C Vehicle to Aswan which is around 3 hours drive , Arrive Aswan and visit the High Dam of Aswan which was completed in 1964, an engineering miracle when it was built in the 1960s. Containing more material than used in the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the Dam is 11,811 ft long, 3215 ft thick at the base, 364 ft tall and is carved into from the existing granite, providing irrigation and electricity for the whole of Egypt. Continue to the Unfinished Obelisk in the granite quarries of Aswan where much of the red granite used for ancient temples and colossi came from. The Unfinished Obelisk still lies where it was carved when a crack was discovered as it was being hewn from the rock. Proceed your trip to visit the majestic Philae Temple which was carefully moved to its current location (around 500 meters from the original site) when the construction of the High Dam caused surrounding Nile waters to rise, Philae Temple was built on the honor of goddess Isis the chief deity of the island. At the end of your tour you will be escorted back to your hotel.

Day 5 :

The temples date back to the reign of King Ramses II (1290-1223 BC). The first Temple was built by King Ramses II and is dedicated to the God Re-Hor-Akhty, Amon, Ptah, and King Ramses II as a deified King. The Temple of Queen Nefertari is located 120m from the Temple of Ramses II and was also built by Ramses II, dedicated to the Goddess Hathor and to his wife Queen Nefertari. In June 1964 The Egyptian government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these temples from the raising water of Lake Nasser while the High Dam was being built.
